This Privacy Policy explains how Vacation Rentals Connection LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), which operates BestVRC.com and VacationRentalsConnection.com (the “Site”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit the Site, create an account, list a property, make a booking inquiry, or send us a payment. By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you register, list a property, contact an owner or renter, fill out a form, subscribe to emails, or make a payment, we may collect:

• Account details: name, username, email address, phone number, and password (stored in encrypted form).
• Owner and listing details: property address, descriptions, photos, rates, availability calendars, and payout contact information such as your PayPal email.
• Booking and communication details: dates, number of guests, messages sent through the Site, reviews, and comments.
• Payment-related details: the amount, date, and status of a payment or donation, and the payer’s name and email. We do not see or store full credit or debit card numbers. Card and bank payments are handled directly by our payment processors (see Section 4).

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website, and the date and time of your visit. We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, protect against spam and fraud, and understand how the Site is used.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate the Site, create and manage accounts, and display property listings.
• To connect owners and renters and deliver messages, booking requests, and notifications.
• To process listing fees, booking payments, owner payouts, and voluntary support payments.
• To respond to questions and support requests.
• To send service emails and, if you subscribe, newsletters or promotions (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To measure and improve the Site’s performance and content.
• To prevent spam, fraud, unauthorized access, and violations of our Terms.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

3. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

• Between owners and renters. Listing details are public. When you send an inquiry or make a booking, the information needed to complete that booking (such as your name, contact details, dates, and messages) is shared with the other party.
• Service providers. Companies that help us run the Site, such as our web host, email providers, analytics, spam protection, and payment processors, receive information only as needed to perform their services for us.
• Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Vacation Rentals Connection LLC.
• Business transfers. If the Site or our business is sold, merged, or transferred, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

4. Third-Party Services

The Site uses the following third-party services, each of which handles information under its own privacy policy:

• Payment processors: PayPal, Stripe, Cash App (Block, Inc.), and Zelle through your bank. These providers collect and process your payment details directly.
• Analytics: Google Analytics, which uses cookies to collect usage information. You can opt out using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• Maps: Google Maps, used to display property locations.
• Email marketing: Constant Contact, if you sign up for our mailing list.
• Spam protection: Akismet (Automattic), which checks comments and form submissions for spam.
• Hosting: Bluehost, which stores the Site and its data on servers in the United States.
• Social sharing buttons: If you use a share button, the social network may receive information about your visit.

Links to other websites, including owners’ own sites, are not covered by this policy.

5. Cookies and Your Choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block cookies, some features of the Site, such as staying logged in or booking, may not work properly. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email. You may still receive service emails related to your account or bookings.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, hashed passwords, login protection, and security software. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your password confidential.

7. Data Retention

We keep account and listing information while your account is active. We keep booking, payment, and tax records for as long as needed to provide our services, resolve disputes, and meet legal and accounting requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

8. Your Rights

You may review and update most account information by logging in to your dashboard. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by emailing support@vacationrentalsconnection.com. We may need to verify your identity and may keep certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as completed transaction records. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s privacy laws, and we will honor them as required.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not intended for children under 18. Renters and owners must be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
